Summary: If the Motion to Rescind referenced in Agenda Item OA-1 passes, the Board will discuss and determine whether to appoint "Measure U" Subcommittee recommendations from the Board's Subcommittee.

The Board of Education advertised seeking applicants from community members to fill a minimum of seven openings on the District's Measure U Citizens' Oversight Committee, to be active in one of five categories; active in a Bona-fide Taxpayers’ Organization, active in a Senior Citizen Organization, active in a Parent-Teacher Organization, active in a Business Organization and active in an At-large Organization. Eight applications were received and all applicants were interviewed on March 14, 2017.

The Board Sub-Committee is bringing forward a recommendation to appoint all eight (8) applicants as follows: Crystal Kirst, representing a Business Organization; Terrie Hedden, representing a Senior Citizen Organization; Jerry Glenn, representing an At-large Organization; Michael Mark, representing a Parent-Teacher Organization; Jeff Seybold, representing a Parent-Teacher Organization; Alex Aliferas, representing Constituencies Active in a Bona-fide Taxpayers Organization; Dave Mierkey, representing an At-large Organization; William Huyett, representing a Business Organization
Funding: There is no financial impact as a result of this Action.
Recommendation: Appointment.
