REVISED 2009-10 Final SES Master Contract(Nov. 2009).pdf
Summary
:
ESEA law requires that additional academic support outside the school day be provided to low income students who attend schools in year 2+ Program Improvement. State Board of Education approved SES Providers will be used to provide tutoring to improve student achievement. NCLB Section 1116(b)(10) requires that the district spend the equivalent of 20% of its Title I, Part A allocation on SES/Choice, unless parental demand for SES/Choice transportation is less. LUSD Board of Education approval is needed for Master Contracts entered between LUSD and the SES proviers on the attached Providers chart.
Funding
:
The actual cost for these services is based on the pending 2009-10 per pupil allocation, which is determined by the California Department of Education. The SES/Choice funding is set aside in the Title I, Part A allocation as required.
Recommendation
:
Staff recommends that the Board of Education approve the Master Contracts for SES Providers at the Title I Program Improvement Year 2+ schools for the 2009-10 school yer.
